Project Summary

This Fulham Gardens renovation was a pivotal project for our clients, a busy mum and dad who had long dreamed of their own ensuite. Until now, they shared the family bathroom with their children, which meant their mornings were hectic and lacked privacy. Their vision was clear: a functional, luxurious space that would serve as their personal retreat while seamlessly blending with their modern home.

The previous layout presented a challenge—there was no ensuite at all. We reconfigured the space to carve out a dedicated area for the parents, ensuring every element was thoughtfully designed to maximise functionality and comfort.

At the heart of the new ensuite lies a freestanding oval bathtub, a serene focal point perfect for unwinding after a busy day. A floating double-sink vanity, custom-designed for the couple, provides ample storage while maintaining a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. To enhance comfort, underfloor heating was installed beneath the soft grey tiles, delivering gentle warmth on crisp Adelaide mornings.

Designing for Practical Luxury

One of the key challenges was to create a space that balanced practicality and style. Frosted glass doors now separate the toilet and shower area, ensuring privacy and enabling multiple areas of the bathroom to be used at once. The spacious walk-in shower features a cleverly placed LED-lit niche, designed not just for storing toiletries but also as a subtle design highlight.

Natural light was prioritised in the design, with large windows brightening the space and creating an inviting ambiance. Matte black fixtures provide a bold, industrial touch, contrasting elegantly with the soft grey tiles and lending a modern sophistication to the room.

This ensuite was more than just an addition—it was a transformative step in making the family’s home work better for their needs. By integrating thoughtful features like backlit mirrors for grooming, a spacious vanity for storage, and luxurious touches like underfloor heating, we created a space that offers both indulgence and utility.

The result is a meticulously crafted ensuite that marries industrial chic design with practical functionality. Now, mum and dad finally have their own private retreat, a sanctuary where they can recharge and enjoy the beauty of a well-designed space.
